A young Hercules,Iolaus,and Jason are sitting at a table at Kora's.A much battered,but beaming Hefestus tramps in.The boys rise up in alarm.
Hefestus:Congratulate me,boys!I'm a father!
After a surprised cheer,they look at him in puzzlement.Then they start talking all at once.
Hercules:Who's the mother?
Iolaus:Is it a boy or a girl?
Jason:What's it's name?
Hefestus:Slow down,guys!Okay.Aphrodite's the mom,and his name is Cupid.
Hercules:Hey!I've got a nephew!But...what happened to you?
Hefestus:Well,Ares was present at the birth,and I wasn't.Apparently it was a difficult birth,and she screamed curses on my name the entire time.She apologized for Ares after she found out;it wasn't her fault.
Hercules:So,are you guys a couple now?
Hefestus:No.It was just the once,ya know?And,this is her firstborn.She wants to keep him.
Iolaus:And you?
Hefestus:Oh,I can see him whenever,I guess.
Jason:Well,that's good.
Hefestus:Yeah,and ya wanna know the best part?
All 3:What?
Hefestus:(pauses for dramatic effect)He's beautiful!He looks just like his mother!Well...except for the wings.
Flash to the next morning,before dawn.Hercules is awakened by something,he isn't quite sure what.It's as if he is drawn out of bed & outside by some unknown force.He walks out of sight of the academy and suddenly Aphrodite pops up with an infant Cupid in her arms.
Aphrodite:Yo,bro!What's shakin'?
Hercules:Aphrodite?
Aphrodite:The one and only!I thought it was time we met.
Flash to later that morning inside the academy.Jason,Lillith,and Iolaus search frantically for Hercules.He walks in with Cupid on his hip.
Lillith:Is that a...cherub?
Hercules:(grins)This is my nephew,Cupid.
Lillith:Oooh.He's so cute!
Chiron walks in as the four are admiring the baby.
Chiron:(clears his throat)Um,is there something I should know about?
Hercules:Oh,uh,this is my nephew,Cupid.My sister,Aphrodite,brought him for me to babysit. (quickly)It's just for today,though.
Chiron:(smiles)Well,I guess it'll be okay.(exits)
Iolaus:So...what's the goddess of love like?
Hercules:Pretty cool,actually.We talked for a good while.I've got to meet her at sundown and bring him back.
They walk into the dining hall.
Thesus:What is that ?
Hercules:(offended)"That" just happens to be my nephew!
Thesus:Oh,um,sorry,Ace.
Hercules:(nods cooly)No problem.
Flash to outside.Strife and Dischord are plotting.
Dischord:We can use that kid to our advantage!
Strife:Are you sure we wanna risk the wrath of Aphrodite and Uncle Ares?
Dischord:Forget it!We have the advantage!
They both laugh evilly.;Flash to later that afternoon,in the courtyard.Hercules,Iolaus,Jason, and Lillith are all sitting withe the baby when Strife and Dischord pop up.
Dischord:We'll be taking him off your hands now!
Hercules:No way!
Strife:Tryin' to cause trouble?
They move forward.Without thinking,Iolaus grabs Cupid's bow and arrows.He hits Strife. Strife's eyes light up as he stares at Iolaus.Dischord looks at Strife,laughing.Iolaus hits her with another arrow,and her eyes light up at Strife.Strife walks towards Iolaus,followed by Dischord.The others look on in surprise.
Strife:You're a pretty little man!
Dischord:(pouting)I'M PRETTIER!!!
Iolaus:(alarmed;gets behind Jason)Sorry,Strife,you're not really my type.(to the others)Get that freak away from me!
Dischord:Don't call my love-bunny a freak!
The others exchange surprised glances as they mouth the words "Love-bunny?".Jason keeps Strife at arm's length from Iolaus,while Dischord keeps tugging on Strife's arm.The chase goes all over the place for about an hour.Hercules then notices the setting sun.
Hercules:I've gotta go;maybe Aphrodite'll know what to do. Iolaus:(still running)Hurry,Herc!
Hercules goes to the spot where Aphrodite appeared to him that morning.
Aphrodite:Hey.(takes Cupid)There's my little chipmunk-cheeks!(gives him several kisses) Thanks for watching him,Hercules.
Hercules:No problem,except...
Hercules quickly explained the mess with the arrows.To his dismay,his sister laughed until she was teary-eyed.
Aphrodite:(regaining her composure)Okay,kid.Open your hand.
Hercules obeys.
Aphrodite:(drops some blue powder in his hand)Okay.Blow this on Strife and Dischord.It should reverse the spell.
Hercules:Thanks.
Hercules runs back to the academy,the powder clutched firmly in his palm.When he reaches the fray,he blows the powder on Strife and Dischord.
Dischord:(shakes her head)What...(notices she's holding Strife's arm)EWW!(quickly drops the arm and pops out)
Strife:(notices he's still trying to get past Jason to get to Iolaus)(flustered)Oh,uh...I'll just be going now.(pops out)
They all laugh,except Iolaus.
Jason:What's wrong?
Iolaus:I dunno.I just thought he'd try harder.
They all look at him strangely,until they see his grin and the mischevious twinkle in his eyes. Then they all laugh together.
