Limericks written January 1- Feb 1, 1998.

There once was an unhappy Iolausian
Whose heart's on the verge of explosion
That Netforum's down
Iolaus can't be found
IWS caused her nerve corrosion.

Bwell

Once an Iolausian with severe IWS
Scared her family and caused them distress
To stop her wild raving
Asked her what she was craving
She cried, "Iolaus in every ep, nothing less"

Bwell

There once was a crazy grape episode
Herc was almost nude, or so I'm told
When falling grapes dropped
My eyes almost popped
Think I'll start an art school in my abode

Bwell

An Iolausian who loved a good limerick
Kept talking in rhythm both short and quick
Her family in a snit
Said, "We wish you'd quit;
Six weeks without Iolaus makes you really sick."

Bwell

There once was a great ep of Hercules
But the next week's trailer was just a tease
He couldn't be heard
Iolaus spoke not one word
Come on guys, I'm starting to get weak knees.

Bwell

Iolausians a place called Burbank invaded
Those left at home most anxiously waited
For the up-to-date news
Fresh stories to amuse
We're waiting with breath that's now bated.

Bwell

Bwell's Limerick addiction caused such fright
Though she promised just one more tonight
It was clear as a bell
Iolausians could tell
The compulsion could return with all its might.

Bwell

Come on guys, you've really blown it this time
"Herc won't sell," we're not buying that line
No merchandise at a Convention
Called HERC/Xena, I might mention
You ignore our voices, should we try mime?

Bwell

Twas an Iolausian in great distress
Suffering with both IWS andPMS
Her limericks became weird
Just as they all feared
Where this will end is anyone's guess.

Bwell

An Iolausian not wanting trouble to borrow
Tried again to see Iolaus and not sorrow
But sure as you bet
They'll preempt it as yet
And show hamster mud wrestling tomorrow.

Bwell

There once was a hunter so fair
with eyes of blue and golden hair
his smile was as bright as the sun
and as fast as the wind he could run
For his life was a terrible fright
He was brave and noble and did fight
evil and heartbreak and peril
but he seldom if ever got the girl
because...
...when your best friends' a god,
that's just the way of the world !

Chrysim

Round 'n round 'n round they go
Where it'll stop you never know
For there are so many wits here
that Limerick Fever may last all the year.

Chrysim

These limericks are all in good fun,
I can't believe we still are not done,
How many rhymes can we possibly make
Before my sanity will it take
At least I haven't felt the need to pun.

Ceryndip

There once was a Widow named Twakey
Who wasn't the least bit cranky,
when she danced through the night
until dawn's early light,
with Herk who's tall and lankey.

Catstale

I had to make up a limerick
About Iolaus, you see,
He's just the best,
you know all the rest
We write about him with glee.

Catstale

I read your limerick today,
I heard what you had to say,
I can't wait to know
where you will go
so write some more I pray.

Catstale

There once was a blond hero
Where ever he would go
Bad guys he'd beat
oh what a feat
To take rewards he'd say no.

Catstale

Limericks written January 25-31,1998.

Ode to HSN

My husband just shakes his head at this latest quirk
I'm getting ready to record home shopping network
If this Herculean obsession
Could only be a profession
On the job training would be an outstanding perk.

Bwell

There once was an Iolausian named lanfear
Whose rhyming symptoms began to appear
There is no drug
For the Bwell bug
"It's incurable," she said with a grin ear-to-ear.

Bwell

I read your limerick today,
I heard what you had to say,
I can't wait to know
where you will go
so write some more I pray.

Catstale

There once was a blond hero
Where ever he would go
Bad guys he'd beat
oh what a feat
To take rewards he'd say no.

Catstale

I wanted to write an Iolaus limerick
I thought of this quick
don't have a fit,
I will soon quit,
But to this I stick.

Catstale

Bwell, my dear,
you've got me I fear.
I've been doing this all day
and its starting to play
with my mind.
(You're too kind ;-) )

Well, it could be worse,
I *could* be thinking in verse.
(That's a Shakespearean curse)
--Dang, where is my purse?--
LOL
This is swell.

But couplets are the extent
of my sin so I'll relent,
maybe give it up for lent,
or rather just repent
of my crimes
with these rhymes.

You know, we should start a club,
Perhaps a little pub
For poets at Deb U
Who haven't got a clue
I think I'll do Haiku:

Bwell
Calls to me
I reply

Lanfear

I see that the Fever is raging
From all the rhymes we've been staging
Bwell, the master lyricist
and Limerick Muse of the IM List
On behalf of myself and our sisters
Who adore a certain blonde mister
Please keep on making us smile
with your wit, humour and style
Your poetry has got us all rhyming
and this Fever couldn't have better timing
IWS had us all in its grip
From Lanfear and Catstale to Ceryndip
So, long live Iolausian Limerickians
or is it Limerickian Iolausians?
Anyway, you know what I'm trying to say
May Limerick Fever be here to stay!

Chrysim temporarily possessed by Bwell, the Limerick Muse

The Iolausian list is best,
When put to the test,
the poetry we write
is way out of sight,
better than anyone else's best.

Catstale

The Iolausian list found itself split
O'er where taste and nudity fit
Some said newd was lewd
And totally rude
But the rest of us said, "Gotta have it!"

CeredwynWho bent the facts a little, but just couldn't help herself

A limerick is like a fine wine
That only grows on a rare vine
Is it Iolaus that inspires us
To such a tremendously creative fuss?
Or should I blame Bwell for starting this rhyme?

Ceryndip

Limericks, limericks everywhere
Written with such great care
Ceryndip's having quite a time
To lose one would be a crime
So she's collecting them all in her lair.

Ceryndip
